The Handbridge Inn at Handbridge was taken over for the evening on the 10th March when the New Rotary Club held its Inaugural Night there. 40 people attended the Event which was a lively affair. Alison the Landlady still managed to serve her locals in the usual efficient way despite our influx of Rotarians.
History was being made for the Rotary District on that night too as the new Club is the First Satellite Club in their District 1180 and with ten brand new Rotarians being inducted - that has got to be good news for Rotary. The Club currently known as Satellite Club of Hawarden (who are their Sponsors) has been formed in record time first meeting taking place at The Handbridge on 15th January and in just over seven weeks they are all now Rotarians ready and eager to start helping the local Community with projects so if you know of any get in touch to see if they can help. Forget everything you thought about Rotary - this Club is NEW Rotary, meeting up informally for a drink and chat. Meeting Wednesdays 6.00 for 6.30 at The Handbridge Inn the meetings lasting no more than an hour, you can of course stay on to get to know your new friends and many do. So if you are new to the area or simply looking for something new to do pop in and see us, we are looking for more enthusiastic people to join our merry band.
